Unesco World Heritage Sites

The Monasteries Sopoćani (1979), Studenica (1986) and Dečani (2004) have been put on the official UNESCO list of cultural and natural treasures of the world heritage.
In 2006 The World Heritage Committee decided to extend the site of the Dečani Monastery by adding to it three groups of churches, the Patriarchate of Peć, Gračanica Monastery and the Church of the Virgin of Ljeviška. The site is now to be known as Medieval Monuments in Kosovo.
